LUKE 24:  36 – 38

Jesus Appears to the Disciples

36 While they were still talking about this, Jesus himself stood among them and said to them, “Peace be with you.”

37 They were startled and frightened, thinking they saw a ghost. 38 He said to them, “Why are you troubled, and why do doubts rise in your minds?


  1. When we come face to face with God, we also come face to face with all our imperfections (Isaiah 6:1-5). Do you believe this to be true?

2. “Peace be with you” – Jesus spoke these words not only to disciples who were frightened and afraid, but to disciples who had abandoned Him in a number of ways leading up to his crucifixion. How does Jesus’ words “peace be with you” make you feel about all your past sins, failings and faults?

3. Jesus invites them to ‘touch’ him, to grab hold of him in a real and physical way. How can we ‘touch’ Jesus today?

4. While the disciples were ‘talking about this’ Jesus appeared and invited them to touch him. What challenge does that pose for us in our own walks with him?

5. What would it mean for the church (locally and globally) if every believer ‘touched’ Jesus in a real and meaningful way every day of their lives?
