EVERYTHING SHE HAD

READINGS

Hebrews 10:25

25 And let us not neglect our meeting together, as some people do, but encourage one another, especially now that the day of his return is drawing near.

Mark 12:38-44

38 Jesus also taught: “Beware of these teachers of religious law! For they

Like to parade around in flowing robes and receive respectful greetings as

they walk in the marketplaces. 39 And how they love the seats of honour in

the synagogues and the head table at banquets. 40 Yet they shamelessly

cheat widows out of their property and then pretend to be pious by making

long prayers in public. Because of this, they will be more severely

punished.”

The Widow’s Offering

41 Jesus sat down near the collection box in the Temple and watched as the

Crowds dropped in their money. Many rich people put in large

amounts. 42 Then a poor widow came and dropped in two small coins.

43 Jesus called his disciples to him and said, “I tell you the truth, this poor

widow has given more than all the others who are making

contributions. 44 For they gave a tiny part of their surplus, but she, poor as

she is, has given everything she had to live on.”

Colossians 3: 1-4

Since you have been raised to new life with Christ, set your sights on the realities of heaven, where Christ sits in the place of honor at God’s right hand. 2 Think about the things of heaven, not the things of earth. 3 For you died to this life, and your real life is hidden with Christ in God. 4 And when Christ, who is your life, is revealed to the whole world, you will share in all his glory.

Romans 12:2

2 Don’t copy the behavior and customs of this world, but let God transform you into a new person by changing the way you think. Then you will learn to know God’s will for you, which is good and pleasing and perfect.
