READINGS: Mark 9:2-13, Nehemiah 6:1-4

1. Read Mark 9:2-13. What are some things God is saying to you in this passage?

2. Mountain top experiences are where transformation occurs. How we ‘see’ God is transformed, and we are transformed. How have you been transformed over the past few weeks? How has God within you been transformed these past few weeks?

3. Revelations (God revealing himself to us in new ways) happen on the mountain tops, work happens in the valley. What revelations about God and yourself have you experienced recently? Are you prepared to get down to work in the valley?

4. The spiritually mature Christ follower knows how to navigate through the valley while the spiritually immature get lost. How do you feel about trying to navigate through the valley, where life seems ordinary, crazy, busy, stressful?

5. Read Nehemiah 6:1-4. He repeats the phrase “I am carrying on a great project and cannot go down” to those trying to distract him. How can this phrase help you get through your valley?

6. Currently, what are some of the things keeping you from knowing more of God, and distracting you from growing in a relationship with him? How can you use the words from Nehemiah above to deal with this in the future?

7. Thinking back to week 1, the most important thing to a spiritually mature Christ follower is to know God more deeply and personally every day. Are you prepared to say to anything that might distract, discourage or demotivate you from knowing God more: “I am carrying on a great project and cannot go down.”? What might the consequences of this be for you?
