Read: Psalm 33:1-5

Use this Psalm as part of your opening prayer.

What verse speaks the most to you?

Read:  Mark 10:17-31

Discussion Questions (Approx. 30 min)[i]

  • What would you feel if you were that man and Jesus said this to you?
  • Discuss verse 21. What does it all mean?
  • Discuss verse 25. What does that saying mean?
  • Discuss verse 27. How might God’s presence and power help a person to share their money and possessions?
  • Imagine you are a preacher who has been assigned this passage for a Sunday sermon. What is the Good News proclamation in this passage? What would your three points be?

Faith Building (Approx.30 min):

  • What does this passage challenge in your life? Will you personally open yourself to the presence and power of God? How will you do this?

Prayer (10 min). Share prayer requests and then pray together.

Sending Prayer (2 min)[ii]. End by praying the following or a similar prayer:

We know, O Lord, that if we follow close to you, nothing shall be able to separate us from your love. Give us the grace today to make your work our home, that we may know you more clearly and serve you ever more. Amen.

Have a great week.

God bless,

Tim.
