Activity: List the main jobs or job titles you have held. Which of those jobs have
involved the most work? Which have been the most fun? Which would you prefer
never to do again?
If Jesus visited your group today, would he stay and join in with you, or leave and go
somewhere else?

Grow

What strikes you as most interesting or noteworthy from verses 1–16? Why?
Where have you seen the benefits of unity and harmony within the body of Christ?
Look at verses 11–16. What are some roles God has equipped you to carry out
within the church? Within your community?
Explore: Read 1 Corinthians 12:12–31 to see another set of instructions from Paul
about the inner workings of the church. What are some of the bigger obstacles that
often prevent us from working together as followers of Jesus?
What instructions do verses 17–32 include for followers of Jesus?
Groups: Encourage group members to share what they experience when they see
someone act out in anger.
What elements or encouragements from this chapter feel most needed today?

Focus for the week ahead:

Commit Ephesians 4:4–6 to memory: “There is one body and one Spirit,
just as you were called in one hope of your calling; one Lord, one faith,
one baptism; one God and Father of all, who is above all, and through
all, and in you all.”
