WOMEN’S AUXILIARY PLETTENBERG BAY

Dear Ladies

October has been a relatively quiet month for the WA. I say this but behind the scenes there is always outreach work being carried out and funeral teas to organize.

The ladies are very busy sewing pencil cases for the crèches that we support. These will be given to those children going to Grade R next year. The knitting needles are also clacking away as we also give the younger ones at the crèches knitted or soft toys to remind them that they are all important to us.

This month we had fun games meeting organized by Bessie and her team. I think this is really done to test whether we are still capable of showing that we do have co-ordination and skill to carry out tasks of dexterity. The ladies certainly enjoyed themselves and many laughs were echoing in the foyer. The team really spoilt us with so many treats of delicious eats that the ladies just couldn’t get away from the food table.

One of our dear members Trish Crutchley who suffered a severe stroke 18 months ago passed away this month. This was a blessing for Trish as she had been confined to bed and was in the frail care at Formosa Garden Village. We will always remember this very gentle soul.

The WA is often approached o assist for various functions happening at the church. Recently the ladies were asked to cater for the Synod meeting that took place. These meetings involve all the churches in Camdeboo District. The ladies came to the fore and ensured that everyone was well fed and even had padkos for the long road home in the Langkloof and further afield.

Maybe some of you realized that in this tenth month the following occurred in Genesis 8:5

“And the waters continued to abate until the tenth month; in the tenth month, on the first day of the month, the tops of the mountains were seen.”

This of course occurs when Noah, his family and all the animals were in the Ark and only in the tenth month were they able to see the mountains.

This is a reminder to us to be patient, as all will happen in God’s time. We must continue to look upwards and outwards in order to see the tops of the mountain and our goal in sight.

Children, let us love not in word or speech but in deed and truth.
