SENIORS
” But those who keep waiting for the LORD will renew their strength. Then they’ll soar on wings like eagles; they’ll run and not grow weary; they’ll walk and not grow tired.”
Isaiah 40:31
The backbone of our STMC congregation is our senior members. Plettenberg Bay is a popular retirement “village” and many retirees come to this beautiful part of the world, and make STMC their spiritual “home”. Our senior members contribute enormously to our church life and throughout the years many have worked tirelessly to help develop and grow not only our church plant, but also the way in which we express our faith and our outreach programmes.
FELLOWSHIP GROUPS
It is through fellowship that we come together as believers to share in our common love for God. We have a true identity in Christ that unites us. The sweetness of fellowship brings us closer to each other and God. Many of our seniors live with the reality of physically not being able to ‘go to church’ on a Sunday. We presently “take church” to the residents of two retirement villages – Formosa Garden Village and Stromboli’s Retirement Village.

CARING & SHARING
Whether it is visiting someone for a social chat, or bringing comfort in time of need, at STMC we have a strong pastoral heart. Caring for each other is how we demonstrate our love for each other. Please let us know how we may care for you.
THE WELL
“The Well” at STMC is a popular Thursday morning meeting place for many of our seniors. Gloria van Eeden and her team have created a happy spot where friends meet to ‘catch up’ with each other or come to make new friends. “The Well” celebrated its birthday recently after some much needed renovations to the venue which has added an ‘outdoor’ dimension to its charm.
HOSPITAL & HOME VISITS
We have a strong network of trained caregivers who visit the sick both in hospital and at home. Our caregivers often travel to Knysna and George to visit our STMC members who have been hospitalized. Providing transport to and from doctors as needed, is also another example of how we care for our seniors. Please let us know how we may be of help to you.
